As Georgia doesn't require a license, there are no "certified home
inspectors" - instead there are CODE certified inspectors. These inspectors
have taken and passed CODE certification exams provided by the International
Code Council (ICC).
The ICC is recognized nationwide for writing standard codes for the
construction of residential buildings. Forty- five states (including
Georgia), plus the District of Columbia have adopted the ICC codes for
new home construction and remodeling. GAHI is an Education Provider
of the ICC and the only authorized ICC CODE training center in Georgia.
CODE Certification is required for full GAHI membership.
